Coronation Street fans have said they were left 'bawling' as they defended the ITV soap's skinny dipping scenes. There were more emotional scenes for Paul Foreman and Billy Mayhew in Monday's trip to Weatherfield (August 28) as they faced the progression of Paul's Motor Neurone Disease.
Last week, Paul appeared heartbroken when he overheard Billy telling Todd Grimshaw that he wouldn’t still be with Paul after his actions - where he headed up to a hotel room with a former flame who then robbed him of his donations towards his equipment - if he wasn’t ill.
With Paul appearing to agree to a stair lift being fitted on the flat, Paul brushed off his partner's comments and headed to see his friend, Shelley, whom he met at an MND support group. But as he told her how he was struggling with his family making decisions for him and not letting him enjoy the time he has left without thinking about her determination, Shelley shared some home truths.

He then headed home to Billy and told him that he wanted them to spend time together and when Billy suggested some lunch, Paul told him he wanted more of an adventure. The pair were then seen at an idyllic lake where they compared the moment to a movie, making jokes and reflecting on their ‘perfect day’.
But Paul then admitted there is one thing that would improve it, suggesting that they go skinny dipping, claiming it is what they would do in the films. While Billy was reluctant, Paul gave his best puppy dog eyes and told him it was on his bucket list and it wasn't long before the archdeacon caved and the pair stripped off.
They were then seen basking in the water as Billy held Paul in his arms and they took in the precious moment together. And the scenes clearly left Corrie fans emotional as they rushed to comment on a behind-the-scenes post shared by the soap's social media team that showed actors Peter Ash and Daniel Brocklebank in action while also discussing the storyline.
"Peter Ash and Dan Brocklebank reveal all as we go behind the scenes of tonight's skinny-dipping episode #Corrie," the caption of the post read. @mandi_bailey_ replied: "Loved this scene last night. Well done everyone."
@egertonelaine said: "I thought it was beautiful and the way they looked at each other, great acting." @la_rhodes4 commented: "Such a beautiful scene. Well done to Corrie for being a giant ally." @kruger59 wrote: "Brilliant emotional scene, love these two."

But others couldn't help but notice a change between Dan and his on-screen character. @deedurkin33 commented: "Billy sounds so different in real life..." @stephaniebrady67 said: "Omg how posh does billy sound in real life lol."
